Tuesday Volleyball Roundup: Bullard, Van, Sabine Victorious + More

BULLARD — Ashley Searcy delivered 17 kills, seven blocks, five aces, and nine digs, while Kenzie Fish had 19 kills, four aces, and 17 digs to lead Bullard to a 25-9, 25-9, 22-25, 30-28 senior night victory to close the District 16-3A schedule.

Bullard’s Maddy Davis  had three aces, while Mallory McCoy recorded a career-high 36 assists to accompany seven digs. Madi Hodges had one ace and 22 digs. Haley Lombardo finished with eight kills on only 11 attempts.

The win pushed Bullard to 22-15 overall and 6-6 in district entering Tuesday’s 7 p.m. 3A Region II bi-district playoff against Van at UT Tyler’s Herrington-Patriot Center.

Van Clinches Perfect District Record

VAN — Van capped a strong regular season Tuesday night with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-12 sweep of Mineola to secure a perfect 10-0 record en route to a District 15-3A championship.

Van, ranked sixth in the latest TGCA Class 3A poll, enters the postseason with a 33-6 record.

Van opens the 3A Region II playoffs against Bullard at 7 p.m. Tuesday at UT Tyler’s Herrington-Patriot Center.

Sabine Beats Winona in Four

WINONA — Haley Stuart’s 12 kills, one block, four aces, and 16 digs led Sabine to a 20-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-15 regular season-closing victory at Winona on Tuesday night.

Sabine’s Shelby Burns had nine kills, two blocks, and four digs, while Tylia Sylestine added eight kills, four aces, and 19 digs. Brittany Terry added four kills, two assists, one ace, and 16 digs for the Lady Cardinals, who improved to 29-9 overall and 11-3 in district entering Friday’s 4:30 p.m. home playoff warmup against Gary.

Sabine’s Kasie Bell had five kills and three assists Tuesday night, when Skyllar Richter had four kills and one block. Emily Ivins added nine assists, six aces, and nine digs. Jayden Mount led Sabine with 23 assists in addition to two aces and eight digs. Logan Davis had 10 digs.

Palmer Tops Eustace

PALMER — Despite a big night from Caitlyn Culp, Eustace fell 25-23, 25-23, 13-25, 25-18 at Palmer in Tuesday night’s district finale.

Culp finished with 21 kills, four aces, and four digs, while Crystal Garza had 20 assists and one ace. Taylor Peebles and Peyton Dibari each had six kills. Meagan Gunter had five kills, while Rileigh Smallwood had 10 assists.

Noa Taylor recorded a team-high six aces. Smallwood and Dibari served two aces apiece.

Arp Sweeps West Rusk

ARP — Kaci Kuykendall had eight kills, two blocks, and three digs, while India Holland added six kills, two assists, four aces, and 13 digs to lead Arp to a 25-14, 25-23, 25-14 district-closing sweep of West Rusk on Tuesday night.

Sierra Atchley had 17 assists and eight digs for Arp, which improved to 15-22 overall and 9-5 in district entering Friday’s 4:15 p.m. home playoff warmup against Nacogdoches.

Arp’s Briana Medlock had five kills, while Mikayla Frost had one kill, one ace, and 12 digs. Mandy Alibrando had one ace and six digs. Megan Campbell chipped in with three kills and four digs. Cheyenne Burnett had two kills and a dig, while Sydney Hall added three digs.

Troup Sweeps Hawkins

TROUP — Carly Dyess finished with 31 assists and seven digs, while Cheney Cover had 14 kills, three aces, and five digs to lead Troup to a 25-17, 25-12, 25-14 sweep of Hawkins in Tuesday’s regular-season finale.

Josee Ross added 11 kills, one aces, and 12 digs, while Paeton Nolan had eight kills and 10 digs.

Troup’s Bethan Mason had two aces and a team-high 20 digs. Teammate Monet Hale had five kills, two aces, and five digs.

Monday Night: Beckville Beats Longview Trinity School of Texas

BECKVILLE — Beckville improved to 27-4 overall Monday night with a 25-15, 25-21, 25-11 sweep of Longview Trinity School of Texas in a Monday warmup match.

Beckville plays at 4 p.m. Friday at Tatum in another playoff warmup.

Beckville’s Carson Blair had 12 kills and three aces, while Ivy Rieke had eight kills, one block, and five aces. Kassiday Alexander dished out 24 assists to accompany six digs. Carley Lawhorn added seven kills, while Taylor Lindsay had six kills, one ace, and a team-high 13 digs.

Natalie Morris led Beckville with five aces and Stacie Brevard served two aces. Kimber Wesner contributed five digs. Morris, Cassie Elizondo and Kinley Blair had a kill apiece.
