NEW BRAUNFELS -- For the third time this season, District 25-A Division II rivals Laneville and Oakwood met on the basketball court. Only this time, a state tournament berth was on the line.

TYLER -- When Grapeland has its shooting touch from the outside, there isn't much the opponent can do. Ask LaPoynor.

NACOGDOCHES -- Klifton Willis doesn't always start. Sometimes he doesn't even score. But he scored in a big way Saturday afternoon.

COMMERCE – A fast and furious start lifted Dallas Madison to a 68-47 win Friday night, bringing a young Kilgore team’s playoff run to a screeching halt.

TYLER -- Ever since having to rally from 14 points down in the fourth quarter of their area-round playoff, the second-ranked Grapeland Sandies have officially been on cruise control.

TYLER -- LaPoynor punched, and San Augustine punched back. But it was LaPoynor that landed the final blow Friday evening.

With one more week separating us from the boys state basketball tournament in Austin, 10 East Texas teams still have hopes alive of reaching every school's dream location at the beginning of the season.
