TYLER -- The Lindale Eagles used the free-throw line to their advantage Friday evening in Apache Bracket action at the Wagstaff Holiday Classic.

Lindale knocked down 6 of 9 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles past Terrell, 40-35, in a physical, defensive struggle.

Court Brown led the Eagles with 13 points and five rebounds, while Brian Boaz finished with nine points and eight boards. Seven of Boaz's nine points came in the fourth period. Austin Broadfield added 11 points, five rebounds and three steals for the Eagles.

Noah Johnson led Terrell with nine points, while Montravious Davis added eight.

With the game knotted at 26-26 early in the fourth, Lindale went on a 6-0 run. Boaz had  a conventional three-point play, and Mason Terry and Kolton Pierce combined for three free throws, pushing Lindale's lead to 32-26.

Terrell cut the lead to 36-35, but Chris Jones missed a free throw that would've tied the game with about a minute remaining. Lindale then converted a pair of fastbreak opportunities to finish it off.

Lindale closes out tournament play at 3 p.m. Saturday against North Forney, while Terrell faces John Tyler at 5 p.m.

Tyus Bowser, John Tyler Too Much For Bullard

Senior post Tyus Bowser had 20 points, 10 rebounds and three steals to lead the John Tyler Lions to a 71-49 rout of Bullard in Friday's final game of the night.

Bowser had 14 in the first half, helping the Lions to a 33-19 halftime edge. He played sparingly in the final two quarters.

William Vaughn was a spark off the bench for the Lions with 14 points, three boards and three steals. Keaunte Humber contributed 11 points and six rebounds for JT.

Bullard was led by Corbin Howard, who finished with a game-high 21 points with seven boards and three steals.

The Panthers actually led after the first quarter, 13-12, but JT went on a 16-0 run in the second period to build a 30-17 lead. Vaughn scored 10 points in the crucial second.

Bullard cut the Lions' lead to 45-33 midway through the third, but the Lions put the game out of reach by going on a back-breaking 14-0 run.

The Panthers finish tournament play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday against Whitehouse.

North Forney Pulls Away From Whitehouse in the Second Half

The North Forney Falcons used a strong second half to take down Whitehouse, 74-65, Friday night.

The Falcons were led by Alec Harris, who had 25 points, three rebounds and two steals. Teammate Roy Neugent added 22 points and nine boards, as North Forney outscored Whitehouse 40-29 in the second half.

Whitehouse was led by Jaylon Dews' 17 points, three rebounds and two steals. Patrick Mahomes chimed in with 17 points, four boards, four steals and a block, while Jake Parker had 11 points and four steals.

The Wildcats closed out the opening quarter on a 12-2 run to take a 24-18 lead. Whitehouse led by seven, 34-27, midway through the second but the Falcons outscored Whitehouse 7-2 to trail by just two at the half.

North Forney took its first lead, 44-43, midway through the third on a 3-point play from Harris. The Falcons then scored the game's next six points to go up 50-43.

Whitehouse trimmed the lead to 51-50 late in the third, but Neugent scored the period's last four points and Michael Woods' jumper to begin the fourth put the Falcons back on top, 57-50.
