HALLSVILLE -- Nolan Faires scored 28 points to lead the Hallsville Bobcats past Texas High, 62-56, Friday night in District 14-4A action.

The win improved Hallsville to 10-16 overall and 2-3 in district, while Texas High dropped to 11-11 and 2-3.

Ronnie Gideon added 12 points for Hallsville, while Cody Blankenship chimed in with 11.

Texas High was led by Success Belvins, who had 17 points. Darian Kidd and Taylor Jackson combined for 24 points in the losing effort.

Hallsville returns to the court Tuesday at home against Marshall, while Texas High is at Pine Tree.

No. 22 Chapel Hill Captures 13th Straight

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- The 22nd-ranked Chapel Hill Bulldogs continued its dominance in District 16-3A with a 73-43 rout of Gilmer on Friday, their 13th straight victory.

The trio of Michael Harris, Julius Hill and Keilon Moore combined to score 44 points for the Bulldogs (19-7, 8-0).

D.J. Sammons added seven assists and five steals for Chapel Hill.

The Bulldogs' season resumes Tuesday at Spring Hill. Gilmer, which fell to 0-8 in district, plays host to Henderson.

Spring Hill Cruises Past Gladewater

GLADEWATER -- Ben Brundrett had 19 points and six rebounds to spark Spring Hill's 65-39 win over Gladewater on Friday in District 16-3A action.

Matt Williams added 17 points and six assists for Spring Hill, which improved to 18-9 overall and 6-2 district.

Gladewater (3-5 in district) plays at Bullard on Tuesday.

Palestine Evens District Mark With Defeat of Rusk

RUSK -- Shumauri Scott scored 13 points, leading the Palestine Wildcats to a 59-43 win over Rusk on Friday in District 19-3A action.

Jarrell Owens and Sheldon Watson each had 10 points for Palestine (9-14, 2-2).

Kody Stanley led Rusk (2-2 in district) with 14 points.

Palestine is back in action Tuesday at home against Groesbeck, while Rusk is at Kilgore in a non-district game.

Commerce Knocks Off Edgewood, 50-44

EDGEWOOD -- Kavein Massey scored 16 points to lead Commerce past Edgewood, 50-44, Friday night in District 14-2A action.

D'Lance Sharp added 12 points for Commerce, which improved to 11-12 overall and 5-4 in league play.

Edgewood (18-9, 7-2) was led by Jacob Sharff, who had 11 points. The Bulldogs return to the court Tuesday at Grand Saline.

No. 2 White Oak Rolls Past Waskom

WHITE OAK -- The second-ranked White Oak Roughnecks scored a 65-45 win over Waskom in District 17-2A competition on Friday.

Hayden Nichols led White Oak (25-1, 9-0) with 16 points and six rebounds. Levi Yancy muscled his way to 12 points, 10 boards and eight blocks. Skylar Sutton added 11 points, and Kris Anderson had 10 points and six assists.

William McKnight and Demarcus Mitchell had 13 points apiece for Waskom (15-8, 4-5).

White Oak is at Elysian Fields on Tuesday, while Waskom plays host to No. 4 Tatum.

No. 4 Tatum Rips Union Grove

TATUM -- Robbie Rockwell had another big night, hitting five three-pointers to lead fourth-ranked Tatum to a 90-31 rout of Union Grove on Friday.

Rockwell scored a game-high 23 points. Teammates Klifton Willis and Cole Hughes scored 12 points apiece, while Javolick Garrett had 10.

Harmony Earns Win Over Arp

ARP -- Alan Peralta had 21 points, six rebounds and 11 assists to lead Harmony to a 76-65 win over Harmony on Friday in District 18-2A action.

Austin Spurlock contributed 17 points, which included five 3-pointers, for Harmony (9-17, 2-7). Reid Rendon supplied 15 points and six assists, while Brandon Johnson added nine points and 11 boards in the winning effort.

Michael Roberson led Arp (3-6 in district) with 18 points.

Harmony is back in action Tuesday at home against Frankston, while Arp is at Troup.

No. 8 San Augustine Pours It On in 44-Point Win

BROADDUS -- Eighth-ranked San Augustine had five double-figure scorers in Friday's 116-72 rout at Broaddus.

Bobby Tanner led San Augustine (14-5, 5-0) with 28 points, five assists, and five steals, while Jarvis Smith had 19 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. JaCourtney Thomas scored 20 points.

Desmond Randle had 13 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Garret scored 14 points. Zhikavan Wilson added nine points, while Al Horton had four points, six assists, and four steals.

Martin's Mill Stays Unbeaten in District

MARTIN'S MILL -- Davis Moore had 23 points and six assists, leading Martin's Mill to a 65-33 rout of Carlisle on Friday, which kept the Mustangs perfect in District 17-A Division I.

Hunter Conway added 15 points and three steals for Martin's Mill (17-8, 8-0).

Bryce McGowen and Michael Savala had 11 points apiece to lead Carlisle.

The Mustangs return to the hardwood Tuesday at No. 11 LaPoynor, while Carlisle faces Beckville at home.

Big Sandy Takes Care of Overton

OVERTON -- Isaiah Johnson scored 14 points, leading the Big Sandy Wildcats to a 46-36 win over Overton on Friday in District 17-A Division I competition.

Joshua Jackson added 12 points for Big Sandy, which improved to 18-4 overall and 5-2 in district. Overton, meanwhile, fell to 3-5 in league play.

Big Sandy is back in action Tuesday at home against Harleton. Overton's season continues next Friday at Harleton.

No. 7 Oakwood Defeats No. 10 Laneville in Thriller

OAKWOOD -- Damiyne Durham knocked down two free throws in the final second to lift seventh-ranked Oakwood past No. 10 Laneville, 75-74, Friday in District 25-A Division II action.

Durham, who finished with a game-high 33 points for Oakwood (14-5, 7-1), was fouled at halfcourt with Laneville (17-8, 4-3) leading by a point.

Donta Harris had 19 points to spark Laneville. Tralon Alexander added 17, while Kendrick Anderson and Ty Johnson combined for 28 in the losing effort.

Laneville is back in action Tuesday at home against Apple Springs.
